Regional Meet Information Letter

 

            The Regional Meet will be held in Palacios this year on Thursday, February 28th with lifting stating at 9:00 a.m.  Hopefully the following information will be helpful as we come to the end of the regular season.

 

            -Early weigh in will be on Wednesday, February 27th from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

 

            -Schedule for Thursday, February 28th:

                        -Weigh In- 6:30 – 8:00 a.m.

                        -Coaches Meeting- 8:10 a.m.

                        -Judges Meeting- 8:30 a.m.

                        -Lifting begins at 9:00 a.m.

 

            -Entry fee is $30.00 per lifter.  Checks made out to Palacios Powerlifting.

 

-The last qualifying date is February 23rd.  I know that meets are being held in Edna, Alvin, and Westbrook.  Results MUST be sent to me by midnight of the 23rd.  Coaches may send them via fax or email.  If I do not receive them by this time, I cannot accept them.

 

-Weight declarations are due to me by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, February 25th.  If you have a lifter in 2 weight classes and do not declare them in one, I will automatically place the lifter in the higher weight class and remove her name from the lower weight class.  If you have a lifter that is double listed and you already know what class she will lift in please let me know as soon as possible.  I will send an updated ranking list out Sunday.  Once  I receive declarations I will continue to update the list. 

 

-If you have a lifter that cannot compete for any reason please let me know, since it does impact other lifters.  After 4:00 p.m. Monday, February 25th, you will be responsible for the entry fee for your lifters, whether they compete or not.  Failure to assume this responsibility will result in disqualification of your team from the Regional Meet.

 

-Make sure you check the list for errors.  If you see a spelling error or an error in total, or any kind of error, please let me know so that I may get it corrected as soon possible.  Once I send out the regional qualifiers, again check it for any mistakes.

 

-All lifters must compete in a proper uniform.

 

-There will be a $200.00 fine for any school that did not have their dues postmarked by February 1st.

 

-We will have a concession stand through our Booster Club.  They will have a meal deal that you may set up with them once you get here.

 

-We will have t-shirts for sale for $15.00 and $20.00.

 

-Items to bring to the meet:

            -Entry Fee- $30.00 per lifter

            -Eligibility list (from the website)

            -State meet ad orders (from the website)

            -Scholarship Applications (from the website)

 

-During the week of the regional meet there will be lots of changes in the rankings.  I will send out updates as I receive them.  Also, check the website for any changes.   

 

-If I have forgotten anything or need to be clearer on something, please do not hesitate to ask me.  I have tried to think of everything, but I have most likely forgotten something.  If you have a question about something I am sure others do as well.  Please contact me with any questions, concerns, or corrections and I will do my best to get everything correct.

 

-The state meet will be in Killeen at the convention center.  Class A, 2A, & 5A will lift on Friday, March 14th.  Class 3A and 4A will lift on Saturday, March 15th.   Entry fee for the state meet will also be $30.00 per lifter.  Checks should be made out to: THSWPA.
