Coaches,

            Welcome to another powerlifting season.  For those of you who do not know, my name is Ron Arnesen and I am the new Regional Director for Region IV.  I coach at Palacios High School.  My email has changed this year from the one on the website. Email will be the fastest and best way to reach me.  I will try to respond as soon as I can.

            I am developing a contact list, I have already sent out a few emails via this list, if you have not received something from me this year that means I do not have you on the list.  Please email me so I can add you to the list and have your current information.  Also, please let me know if you are hosting a meet this year.  That way I can look for your results and have the most updated standings possible.  Also, results need to be faxed to me by 4:00 p.m. on the Monday following the meet at (361) 972-6287.  If it is easier to email them to me, that is fine as well.  I know that once the season starts we are all very curious about the standings.  I will do my very best to keep the standings as accurate and as current as I can.  Everyone getting results to me in a timely fashion will be of great benefit to this end.

 

            State dues are $75.00 and must be post marked by February 1st, 2008.  There is a change this year, late dues will be accepted with a $200.00 late fee.  Complete the registration form and send it along with payment to:  THSWPA

            The last qualifying date will be Saturday, February 23rd.  Remember that during this week meets can only be held on Friday or Saturday.  Also, all judges MUST be certified.  All results from the last qualifying dates must be sent to me no later that midnight, February 23rd.  Weight declarations must be made by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, February 25th.  If I do not here from you and you have a lifter who is in the top 12 in two weight classes she will be placed in the heavier weight class.    

 

           

 

The Regional Meet will be held on Thursday, February 28th at Palacios High School.  I will send out more specifics at a later date. 

 

The state meet will be in Killeen once again this year.  The 1A, 2A, and 5A girls will lift on Friday, March 14th and the 3A and 4A girls will lift on Saturday, March 15th.

Just as an FYI, the state meet for 2009 will be held in Corpus Christi.
