Changes for THSWPA 2008 season.

 

  1. Dan Smith from Los Fresnos in now the business director.  His contact information is on the website.
  2. State Meet for 2008 is in Killeen.  2009 State Meet will be held in Corpus Christi.
  3. Hector Munoz from Carrizo Springs is now president of the association.
  4. Judges at the platforms are now in charge of witnessing state records.  The head judge will sign off on the record attempts.  This applies to the 2008 meet and beyond.
  5. Membership dues are due on February 1st, 2008.  Due to problems we have had in the past, late fees will now be accepted.  Late fees are $200 and must be paid before a lifter can lift in a regional meet.
  6. There will be no head referee at the state meet this year.  Instead the will be three head referees, each in charge of two platforms.
  7. Vacancies at the state meet will be filled by girls who had the highest total at the regional meet.  For example, if there are only three lifters who qualify for the class A 97 pound wt class, the next two lifters with the highest regional total from all regions will qualify.
  8. Sock rule is still in place.  The socks should be above the calf and below the knee.
  9. Clarification of the bump rule.  Bumps are listed by lot #, not by order of bumping.
